Nuevo Vallarta fishing report for December

The in-the-know anglers enjoy in Nuevo Vallarta for the month of December. Some of the most obvious reasons are incredible weather, sunny skies, fantastic lodging, nightlife, and incredible offshore fishing. Deep-sea fishing in the winter here is a lot like Christmas, ya never know what you are going to catch. The following species of pelagic fish will be had inshore and offshore. Try your hand at fishing for marlin, sailfish, wahoo, tuna, and mahi-mahi in Nuevo Vallarta. With the warm waters coming and going it keeps us guessing as to what the bite will be tomorrow. The one constant thing we can count on is good fishing in Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico.
The sailfish, tuna, and marlin love the semi-warm water that we have all winter long. When most of the United States and Canada are putting their boat is storage we are in full fishing mode here in beautiful Nuevo Vallarta. With the warm waters and abundance of bait you just never know what you can catch here. We have all kinds of fish, but the constant changing of water temps and currents keeps us on toes or should I say our boats.  nuevo vallarta december fishi
If you are looking for marlin fishing in the winter we have right here for some offshore fishing. The plan will be for 8 hours to 10 hrs or even 12 hours depending on where the blue water is and the bait movement. If you follow our fishing reports I always say follow the bait and you will find the fish. The huge marlin loves the warmer water but will not starve themselves to death. We all have to eat and so do the marlin. Hence we have to follow the baits and the other fishing conditions that are tale-tale signs the fish will be biting in our area. If the conditions change so do we. Follow the fish to success.
The sailfish swims in temperatures that can range from 75 to 80 degrees water but with some exceptions. We see these fish in the summer when the water temp is above 80 degree. That is what makes the winter fishing in Nuevo Vallarta so nice is the perfect water temperatures. With all kinds of bait like mullet, sardine and goggle-eye,bonitas, chorras there’s nothing holding us back here in Puerto Vallarta fishing. If you want excitement try fishing with 5 to 10 lbs baits for our blue and black marlin.  nuevo vallarta mahi mahi fishing

nuevo vallarta snapper fishing
The mahi-mahi aka dorados loves the water temp from 68 degrees to 82 deg. We have those water temps most of year-round. The best water temperatures are in the winter months here in Puerto Vallarta bay fishing. To catch these fish be sure and know where the water temp breaks are in the bay. We use Terrifin and this will put us in the fish zone most days. The mahi-mahi fantastic fighters are just like us and love the warm water and will be here most of the year especially in the winter. Come down and give mahi-mahi fishing a chance inshore or offshore. The best bet is a charter of 8 hours for some thrilling action and an incredible table fare. There are some of the best-tasting fish anywhere.
The bay fishing holds very steadily for the winter months. We have the Spanish mackerel,skip-jack tuna, yellowtail, and snapper that keeps our clients happy even on short trips of for to six hours. Most days we can load the boat up with some good eating fish along with some fabulous fishing. Be sure and check availability before coming down. Christmas is right around the corner and we will be booked up before ya know. A quick email or phone call can have you on one of our boats in the tropical weather hauling in a big fish while landing the fish of your dreams. We are only a phone call 800 4306048 way for exceeding your expectations
Look forward to seeing everyone on the water here in beautiful Nuevo Vallarta Mexico

Fishing report September 2017

The Nuevo Vallarta fishing September 2017 report started with a bunch of nice fish being caught. Mexican Independence Day in Mexico was with some great clients coming to fish for all kinds of pelagic fish. Our groups were mixed, new clients, repeat clients, friends, and families. The family group trips were mostly along the bay fishing for small game like some of the yellowtail, Spanish mackerel, snapper, and roosterfish.

Nuevo Vallarta fishing charters were quite the busy this weekend with fantastic fishing action. We have had some incredible weather to go along with incredible fishing. The high was also around 80 degrees most days and most of the fishing spots had dark blue water. With these really great conditions here in Nuevo Vallarta what are you waiting for?

Inshore Fishing

I have been having a ball on some of the short trips catching all kinds of fish with clients. We fished over by the River finding some huge triple tail which is fantastic eating fish out there to fish for in these waters. These and some of the similar spots we are catching all minds of game fish and some large size Spanish mackerel over on the North Shore by Punta Mita. The fast feeding choras and yellowtail were heating the water up. Some days we caught 15 to 25 fish in a 4 Hour fishing trip which left our clients quite happy. They had all the fish they wanted to take with them and some left over.

Deep sea fishing action

The offshore fishing here in Nuevo Vallarta was also out of this world we did several 8 to 10 hrs. trips on the Northside Punta Mita to all the way to Sayulita. There were several Marlin and great mahi-mahi action caught on these trips. One day where we found a dead whale that had been in the water for many days and there were several sailfish and Marlin all around it. Fishing Nuevo Vallarta was hot for the month of September. We used a lot of pitch baits, lures, and downriggers around the dead whale. The mahi-mahi loves the live bait where they were thick

marlin fishing in nuevo vallarta and very hungry. We quickly switched over to some high-speed lures and we’re getting double Hook-Ups almost every time we passed near the dead whale was floating. And the surrounding areas Punta Mita and Nuevo Vallarta just to name a few where we found Marlin. The fishing in September here in Nuevo Vallarta and inshore fishing is hot and getting better every day. The weather is to die for so come to enjoy some of this incredible fishing with the sunny weather while it lasts. Come back to see what we have to offer here in Nuevo Vallarta fishing.

Fishing Report August 2018

The summer fishing here in Puerto Vallarta is one of the best times to fish if not the best. Check the fishing report august 2018: For short trips, there are yellowtails, bonita, snapper, Spanish mackerel and much other game fish in the bay. These trips are perfect for those who don’t want to spend all day on the water. The length of these trips would be 6 to 8 hrs.

Deep-sea fishing

For folks that want to fish for sailfish and mahi-mahi, the fish is great just offshore. The water is still warm and holds mahi-mahi also know as dorados here in Mexico. The best bet is to fish one of the current lines early in the morning for dorados and then in the afternoon go for the sailfish. November is the very best month for sailfish here in Puerto Vallarta fishing.

Big game

For fishermen that want to go for the big tuna and marlin, the action is always hot this time of the year offshore. There are three main fishing spots we fish during this time of the year. The Corbetena is one of the best and can be done in 10 hrs if you on the right boat. That means be sure you have a good sportfisher that can at least cruise at 15 knots and if not rent a good boat.

The next place that holds big tuna and marlin is El Banco which is 50 miles offshore and most of the really big fish come from this spot. It’s an underwater knoll that rises from 800 feet of water to just 50 feet and holds bait there almost year round. All the fish big game hunters are looking to catch is here. If you fish El banco 10 times 9 times you will come home with the fish of a lifetime.

el banco fishing

The legendary Marias Islands

Marias are known as the ultimate fishing grounds. Here is one of the top 10 places to fish in the world. The islands are 80 miles offshore and we do 2.5-day trips out to the islands for the trip you will never forget. I been there numerous times and have never had a bad trip there. They hold tuna, sailfish, marlin, dorados, snapper and all the above in great numbers. The Maria islands are restricted as for where we can fish, as Mexico had a penal system there that holds about 3000 inmates. New update here in Nuevo Vallarta.  They have been removed at the fishing grounds. There are four islands and the fishing here is great year round.

The choice is yours from 4 hrs. to overnight trips but Fall fish in Puerto Vallarta can’t be beat
