Nuevo Vallarta Fishing report for November 2022

November is the very best months to fish in Nuevo Vallarta. This is what we’ve all been waiting for here in Nuevo Vallarta fishing. For starters, we’re going to experience a lot of the similar fishing that we experienced had last month. Marlin, sailfish, tuna, and dorados. We also have a several fishing tournaments coming up in the November. The Los Muertos tournament is a local and international angler favorite. This is one of the biggest tournaments of the year, usually, around 200 boats enter this tournament and target mostly mahi -mahi and sailfish. There are some great prizes this year 350,000 pesos and many more. The next international fishing tournament is November the 9th for registration and there will be three fantastic fishing days for Marlin, sailfish, tuna, and dorados. There is big money in these tournaments and some of the top fishermen /charter companies will be fishing this event.500,000forMarlin,300,000 for sailfish and dorados well.

The significant changes from October to November are, we just have such perfect conditions for fishing. The cobalt blue water, the ideal temperature, and plenty of bait fish. If you’re looking for a wall hanger as we call them ” something to take home forever” November is a fantastic month to be here for all kinds of pelagic fish. We catch a little bit of everything. Not to worry if you are looking for a fun day in the bay we have plenty of action here as well. Spanish mackerel, yellowtail, mahi-mahi, and some snapper.

We also offer several different kinds of trips during the winter months. One of our specialty trips is half a day fishing and half a day whale watching. You can see a lot of our videos on YouTube which have become quite famous with a lot of our catches and some of the incredible whale-watching videos. One of our other really requested trips is half a day fishing and then spending some time on the beach either snorkeling or having lunch. These are fantastic trips and some of our most requested.

Fishing in July has some fantastic advantages here in Nuevo Vallarta. Most anglers, Captains, families, and fishermen know July is one of the best months to fish here in Mexico. The big game fish come out to play and it all starts around July 4th. There will be a lot of fireworks in the sky and along our coastal waters. Along with some of the best deep-sea fishing in Nuevo Vallarta. We are also having a marlin and yellowfin tuna tournament this July so you know the fishing will be good. We have huge Marlin, sailfish, mahi-mahi, and the most sought-after yellowfin tuna just to mention a few. If you’re looking for a big game action July is the month you want to be here. There is also some fantastic inshore fishing here in our bay.

In Nuevo Vallarta, rainy season has already started with light rains in the evenings almost every day. Occasionally we’ll have light rains in the morning, but usually, they clear up around 7 or 8 in the morning. I receive thousands of calls about the weather each month. For some reason, the weather channel and other website locations on the web have decided to put rain in our forecast every day. It’s just the opposite. We have sunny skies every day with light rains in the evening and offer sunny skies all day long. These rains that we have in the evenings have a couple of effects that really heat up the fishing here in Nuevo Vallarta for the month of July. First and foremost, it brings in all kinds of bait closer which in turn brings in some of the bigger fish following the mullet, sardines, and skipjack tunas. This is great because we’ll be doing a lot of four and six-hour trips over the holidays like July 4th. It’s always a big celebration here in beautiful Nuevo Vallarta on July 4th even though it’s traditionally not celebrated in Mexico. What we would like you to celebrate is the fantastic fishing that we have during our summer months and in July. It just happens to be one of the best months to fish here in Mexico. When you’re coming down for summertime fishing conditions you’ll just have to decide if you want to have some of the incredible bay fishing or try your hand at going offshore for some of the really big fish that we catch here for the month of July.

There are several different ways that we fish for the big marlin, tuna, and mahi-mahi. We use pitch baits, kites, lures, and skip baits to bring these fish up in our spreads behind our many options of sportfishing boats. We’ll be using some of our favorite places that we see year in and year out that produce these huge pelagic fish. El Morro is the closest of the places we like to fish it can be done in about 8 hours. One of the world’s most famous places is the Cortbetena and it produces some of the biggest fish of the year here. El Banco is another favorite where we catch some of the winning fish for the tournaments. Happens year after year. The huge pelagic fish live and feed there. The deep-sea fishing trip is 50 miles out and we need a 12 to 14-hour trip to get there and fish. This underwater fishing spot hole is famous as it is located in thousands of feet of water, then comes up to a low point of 100 ft. Fishing here is almost for sure you were going to come home with a trophy fish. The fishing spot just happens to be one of our favorite places the fish with 5 to 10 lbs. Baits for these huge Marlin. Not uncommon to catch the huge Yellowfin schooling as well. So this July if you’re looking for a fun time and a great place to fish for the day we got you covered inshore or offshore fishing. The Nuevo Vallarta fishing report starts off with the warming of the water around 78 deg. and light rains we have in the evenings during the month of June until the month of October. This helps the inshore and offshore tremendously. I mentioned last month about the abundance of bait arriving here in bay. Mullet, sardines, and goggle-eye are just a few of these baits. These conditions will continue throughout the summer months until the Fall. The only difference will be the arrival of bigger fish and more of them. Some of these incredible fish include marlin, sailfish, mahi-mahi, and the most sought-after yellowfin tuna. The huge yellowfin tunas follow the bait the thermoclines right into the bay. As of matter of fact, some of them were showing up during the last part of the month. With the arrival of warm water and so much bait, you can easily see why anglers love the summertime fishing here in Nuevo Vallarta Mexico. Nuevo Vallarta deep sea fishing

Offshore fishing will start to see more blue marlin and black marlin as the cool water-striped marlin move out to more favorable fishing grounds. Seems like every time one pelagic species of fish leave our area another shows up just in time to keep the fishing interesting here in our part of the neck of the woods. Along with the huge marlin, the tuna will pop up around the bay and offshore. With the trade winds and local currents, we have you just never know where they will start to feed. This is one of the main reasons we use the satellite service( terrafin ) for checking water temp and water clarity before leaving the dock. This not only cuts down on the time we have to hunt for the fish it gives our boats the upper hand on the other fishing boats.

Hola from Nuevo Vallarta where the August fishing continues to be amazing. We’re coming up on our summertime fishing here in Mexico. The fishing is as hot as the weather. My captains have been reporting inshore fishing is incredible. Water temperatures have been cooler than normal, abundant bait and with the COVID-19 there are fewer boats out on the water. This is increasing our fishing hookups and good size fish. If fishing this summer in Mexico in your vacation plans then Nuevo Vallarta is where you need to be.

Inshore fishing has also been producing many yellowtails we had six fish on at the same time the other day. There have also been some yellowfin tuna over by a Yalapa for the 6-hour bay fishing trips. The roosterfish have been tearing up the water and are here in good numbers. With these kinds of fishing conditions in Nuevo Vallarta the success rate of great days has been fantastic. Several of our offshore captains are catching sailfish in good numbers. The mahi-mahi I’ve been hitting offshore and inshore with incredible numbers. With these kinds of conditions, you can expect numerous hook up either inshore or offshore. You’re coming down and looking for a big marlin the offshore action is where you need to be. Starting to see some of the really big ones here. The black marlin is here and still seeing the blue marlin mixed in with these huge fish.

The marlin is ranging from 250 all the way up to 750 lbs. The water temperature is holding around 80 degrees. This is ideal for all kinds of pelagic fish.

Most of these gigantic Marlin are feeding on live bait. We are also having good luck on our black Bart lures and skipping baits. The offshore action has been so good we’re seeing numerous hookups in one day. Fishing report Spring Break 2019

Nuevo Vallarta fishing report for Spring break 2019 is here and in full swing. The fishing is looking good as the fishermen come here on vacation to Nuevo Vallarta Mexico. We had receiving groups fishing from Canada and the United States. With all these clients we couldn’t have had the spectular month that we did last year for all of our trips fishing here. We had a great month fishing with some nice sailfish, mahi – mahi, all kinds of yellowtails and some striped Marlin/ sailfish.

Offshore fishing report

March is when we get our normal trade winds and currents that are good for the deep sea fishing. This brings in a lot of blue water filled with all kinds of bait these pelagic fish love to eat. The water temperatures did move down a little bit and it’s holding steady at about 79 degrees. This means will still be able to see the striped Marlin but would be surprised to see the blue marlin and some black action show up with more consistency.

Inshore fishing & Whale-Watching

Nuevo Vallarta fishing is having fantistic action and lots of deep sea fishing trips. The humpback whales are still here and will be until the last of April. The fishing areas have been calm and overall the fishing has been great. Nuevo Vallarta is still one of the hottest places to fish in Mexico.

Nuevo Vallarta fishing is as good as it gets. The hard fighting Yellowtail have been showing up in huge numbers. Most days we’ve seen schools up almost 200 to 300 fish tear up the bait balls that arrived with these March trade winds. The playful humpback whales are still out close to Nuevo Vallarta and it’s not surprising to see the mom and the baby calf playing that are close by.

Punta de Mita Fishing

Punta Mita fishing is hot this time of the year. Punta Mita fishing is where we usually see the effects of the great tides and trade winds that come in March as it surrounds us in all kinds of bait for the pelagic fish to eat. Just north of Punta Mita fishing still seeing sailfish and some striped Marlin almost every day. These are really great for your 10-hour fishing trips up to 12 hrs. trips offshore for the big ones.

The fishing here in Nuevo Vallarta Mexico is good to excellent. We’re still waiting to see who the really good numbers and the schooling roosterfish and more sailfish. As the water heats up so will the fishing.

Nuevo Vallarta fishing report October 2018. The abundance of sailfish , Marlin, and mahi – mahi have kept us busy fishing here in Nuevo Vallarta for the larger hot marlin this month. The offshore action right now for October is really and getting better. The most consistent bite has been around the Corbetena or Rock were there has been nice tuna as well. These trips that we’re doing now offshore are 8 to 10 hours and I’ve had some really great success on all the pelagic fish that were fishing for here in Nuevo Vallarta Mexico. The black and blue marlin have been hitting the live bait very well and also some of our black Bart larger lures. The best Vallarta had one on the other day that was almost 700 lb.

Offshore Fishing

marlin fishing in Nuevo Vallarta We have one of our big annual deep sea fishing tournaments coming up in La Cruz which is only 10 minutes south of Nuevo Vallarta. There will be a lot of boats available for this tournament and this is one of the best times to fish here in Nuevo Vallarta and the surrounding areas. There should be lots of prizes like automobiles, cash, fishing equipment, boats and many other prizes. If you’re here during October 31st to November 4th this is a great tournament to come and check out or participate in. At this time we have one fishing boat available for this tournament. Inshore

nuevo vallarta dorado fishing The inshore fishing is still holding steady as well here in Nuevo Vallarta fishing. The Spanish mackerel bite has been really good over by the river Ameca close to Vidanta Hotel and over on the North Shore Skipjacks, some of the smaller mahi-mahi, Snapper and some other small game has been really good fishing. On the South Side there has been some roosterfish, the yellowtail and other small game all along the shores there. Fishing overall for the month of October here in Nuevo Vallarta Mexico and simply just been off to charts. If you want to come out and have a fun day trip we have several boats that can get you out there and we have larger boats for taking you off shore for some of the big game fishing that is really hot right now.
