Nuevo Vallarta fishing report for February

February is the fantastic month that people love to come to Nuevo Vallarta and all the fishermen that love to fish here. Not only we have some of the friendliest people, romantic beaches, and incredible restaurants Puerto Vallarta boasts one of the top places to fish in February.  Fishing in Nuevo Vallarta can’t beat this month.

Why is it so nice in Vallarta in February? Fantastic fishing and some of the nicest people in the world.  The inshore fishing has been in high gear with all kinds of pelagic fish being caught.  Some of the good eating fish are California Bonita, Spanish mackerel, and the tough fighting mahi-mahi.

The fishing techniques have ranged from slow live bait troll to deep diving rapalas and cut bait. All three have kept the rods bent. It has just depended on what the fish were looking for on a given day.

The water temperatures have been like a toilet seat. Up and down with most places holding around 73 degrees in the bay. Overall the Nuevo Vallarta fishing has been fantastic.  Most of our trips have been from four to six hrs. The most popular boat has been the 28 ft super panga and the 40 ft offshore boats.    See more about deep sea fishing prices in Nuevo Vallarta Mexico.     marlin fishing nuevo vallarta mexico

Offshore fishing has been like a light switch. On and off all month long for January and we can expect the same for February.  The major difference is the water temperature is moving up little by little. Each week we get closer to spring fishing.  Then the fishing turns on and just doesn’t stop. Everyone enjoys the nonstop action. From inshore to offshore the fishing will be hot.

It’s nice to know you will be seeing hook up all day long while enjoying the perfect Nuevo Vallarta weather.  What’s wrong with landing huge fish and sucking down a cold Mexican beer is this 72-degree weather with sunny skies.  NOTHING

Here in Vallarta It seems like when on particular fishing cools off another one is just as hot as can be. This happens here several times a year. We have had some great in inshore water conditions. The water temps are up and down but have never reached the point where you could say it was cold. This year in February we had some cool water here that usually turns off some of the inshore fishing but somebody forgot to tell all these fish we’ve been catching. We’ve been landing lots of Yellowtail, Spanish mackerel, Snapper, roosterfish sailfish, and many mahi-mahi. To put it bluntly inshore fishing it’s pretty much off the charts. Fishing report November 2019

Nuevo Vallarta fishing report November 2019. Have another exciting winter season that’s starting off with lots of mahi-mahi. The November action was incredible along with many tournaments where we placed second in the largest tournament here in Puerto Vallarta sailfish division.

Offshore action

nuevo vallarta mahi-mahi fishingThe mahi-mahi action continues in November. We’re out yesterday hooked up several mahi mahi and saw several sailfish and Marlin. We’re still seeing a lot of tree stumps old stuff floating in the water and this is holding Dorados like crazy. Some days we can pull up and catch the Dorado each cast. Incredible action to put it bluntly.

For those folks that are willing to venture offshore the Marlin and sailfish have been there for the taking. The offshore run has not been very far and most days the Seas a very very flat. Here in the winter months we rarely get rough Seas. You’re concerned about the Sea and the weather please call me on our toll-free number 800 430 6048 will be more than happy to ask you answer any questions that you might have about fishing here in Nuevo Vallarta.

Inshore fishing & Whale-Watching

nuevo vallarta marlin fishingWe’ve had lots of families over the vacation holidays doing lots of bay trips and producing quite a few fish. We have a 13 year old boy landed his first Marlin with his family from Chicago way to go Matt. Can you imagine how exciting this was for him and family.

On another side note the whales have decided to show up as the water is finally cooling down just a little bit. 83 deg. Over the last month is dropped about 2° soon as it drops another couple of degrees the humpback whales will be here in full force. It’s always a pleasure when we’re taking me for catching lots of fish as we see the whales on the way out and on the way coming back in. We also do whale watching trips for folks I just want to see the whales and enjoy the beautiful weather.
