Nuevo Vallarta fishing report for the month of September 2022

This Labor day our fishing report starts off with more great news of what we had last month.  The larger marlin, sailfish and mah-mahi have started to move into our fishing grounds here in Nuevo Vallarta. . The weather has been perfect with the minus passing of a few storms offshore. Not many people know September as one of the better months to fish in Nuevo Vallarta. First, there are less people here with school back in full swing in the United States and Mexico. Second, we have more bait that comes into our bay and offshore fishing area. If you read my fishing reports you will always here me talk about following the bait trail. If you are on the bait you will be on the fish. One of the last factors is it’s still summertime and the days are long.  Sun comes up here in September at 7.30 am and sets about 8.30 p.m. Giving up plenty of daylight hrs. to hunt down any type of fish you may be looking for. September is a great month for dorados, sailfish, marlin, tuna and all the game fish you want to catch in the bay of Nuevo Vallarta. Let’s talk about where we fish in the month of September.sailfish in nuevo vallarta

The bay fishing happens in Nuevo Vallarta to the south side of the bay. Here on the south side of the bay the Los Arcos,Qimixto,Los Animas and Yelapa are always good gashing in the month of September. If you are set up for all the fish we catch in the bay you might see some billfish behind your spread. Happens all the time so keep a sharp lookout on the short corner. The marlin and sailfish love to surprise us by taking a black bart lures of even a sewn-up mullet bait.

A little know fact is that the sailfish love this south side of the bay when the moon if full.  There will half the fishermen that don’t like a full moon and the other half of the anglers love the full moon. I guess I have to be neutral on this point as I have had some incredible days on the full moon and some that have not been great days. Leave us a comment on the full moon debate down below.

The north side of the bay seems better for yellowtail,(sometimes schooling ) Spanish mackerel, skip jack tuna, mahi-mahi and some roosterfish.  We depart from Nuevo some days and get lucky fishing the area of La Cruz all the way up to Punta Mita. The are several favorite fishing spots along this shore of the bay. Palo Verde in one of the best and you never know what will be biting around this knoll. I’ve seen snapper all the way to sailfish in September taking our baits along the beautiful beach area. Be sure and take extra bait in the part of the bay. You might find the fish schooling in this month of fishing here. To see what you can expect to catch offshore please take a look at the offshore fishing report in Nuevo Vallarta Mexico. What are the cost for fishing in Nuevo Vallarta Mexico

This September we will be busy fishing offshore around Labor day. We will be fishing several offshore destinations like the El Morro. The Morro is known for it’s close proximity to Nuevo Vallarta located just outside the bay. The sailfish, marlin and mahi-mahi loves the area. This is just offshore and cab be done in an 8 hr. trip. This fishing area holds bait from the abundance of bait and reefs. The roosterfish and amberjack love to feed in this honey hole of a fishing spot. I’ve also landed huge marlin in September here . Fishing with small tuna or large bonitas of 5 to ten lbs. can produce some very productive fishing.

For the more adventurous angler we have the Corbetena and El Banco. These offshore trips are 10 to 14 hrs. The first Cortbetena hold marlin and tuna all year round. There is always bait there hence the fish congregate around the area depending on the water tempertures and water clarity.  If you have the right tempertures and deep dark blue water. Watch out.  The big fish will be there.

El Banco is about 50 miles offshore and holds everything you can fish for in the Pacific ocean.  This is the mecca of fishing ground out of Nuevo Vallarta. I’ve fished here for over 35 years and know of only one fishing spot that is better. Can anyone guess where it is at ?snapper fishing in nuevo vallarta

As you can see for the month of September we have you cover for either offshore fishing or bay fishing. We have a toll free number to check the weather and fishing reports before coming down.  Just let us know how many are in your group/family and I will personally guarantee you a fabulous day on the water here.

Hope to see everyone out there on the water. Take a look at what other said about our Nuevo Vallarta fishing charters.

Nuevo Vallarta fishing report May

We all know that May is for mothers day and excellent fishing and Nuevo Vallarta Mexico. If you’re visiting down here to Nuevo Vallarta in the month of May, you’re gonna be able to take out several different fishing trips. In may we have the changing of the waters where cooler water is meeting warmer water. This is great in several ways as the warmer waters bring in the larger fish and all kinds of baitfish. The mullet, shad, sardines, bonitos, and goggle-eye are just a few.may fishing in Nuevo Vallarta

Fishing in May can be rewarding, so make sure you check the weather, water temperature, where the blue water is, and of course last but not least where the fish had been feeding the last couple of days. We always do well in may for several reasons, first and foremost, we have a lot of repeat clients so we’re on the water every day. The next big thing that helps us is terrafin which enables us to see water temps and water clarity. These combined elements help us stay on the fish and help our clients catch more fish. I always say if you find out where the fish are feeding, then you’ll have a fantastic day.

See what the boats and best Captains have been catching in Nuevo Vallarta fishing.

We will be offering short trips in the Bay on our 28-foot super panga four to six hours is perfect we’ve been landing a lot of Spanish mackerel yellowtail snapper and California Bonita additions will hold up for the month of May until the water temperature starts to rise above 78 degrees. Check out the fantastic prices we have online.

We’ll be offering similar trips on our 32 building for groups that are a little bit larger by doing the same kind of fishing ,but can also venture off sure with a 32-footer it’s very comfortable for four people. Our most requested boat the 40-footer is for offshore trips looking for sailfish, marlin, tuna, and the fantastic eating mahi-mahi. These trips are usually 8 to 10 hours or can be extended depending on where the fish are running. Be sure and give us a call at our toll-free number if you have any questions about the fishing conditions, which boat you guys should take, and where the fish are biting. Will be more than happy to help out in any way.

Nuevo Vallarta fishing report February 2022

For people love fishing in Nuevo Vallarta in the winter. February is the month here for lovers and for people that love to fish Nuevo Vallarta. With the simple fact, we have hundreds of miles of coastline for fishing and five of the top places in the world to fish. We can obviously see why anglers want to be in Nuevo Vallarta for the month of February.    tuna fishing nuevo vallarta

Just a few of the reasons is we have excellent weather with the water temperature hanging around the mid-70s the ambient water temperature in the mid-70s as well. This is perfect for beachgoers and the folks that love to fish in perfect weather. This produces all kinds of good fishing in the bay and offshore so let’s explore fishing options we have for February.

If you’re going to be fishing short amount of time here in Nuevo Vallarta in February the bay fishing is fantastic. Over the last couple of weeks, we have been catching California Bonita, yellowtail, Mahi – Mahi, some sailfish, and even some striped Marlin inside the bay. Some of the best action has been over on the North Shore is known to produce a lot of fish and it’s called Palo Verde. This is a good spot almost every day in the winter fishing. There are a few shallow spots there for bottom fishing and excellent for trolling. Often we were able to catch the fish schooling on the surface and having incredible action. On most days trolling along with some Pitch, baits have been sufficient to catch limits the four to six fishing trips. It’s also a great opportunity to use some pitch baits and topwater action along this shoreline on the north side of the bay. . The month of February here in Nuevo Vallarta is just about perfect for Fishing the shorter trips in the bay. Want to see the latest prices for Nuevo Vallarta fishing?

nuevo vallarta fishng charters

If you’re wanting to come down and go for sailfish and Marlin I recommend 8 hours plus trips for offshore fishing. What can you expect in fishing these waters during the month of February ? First striped Marlin, blue and black marlin, dorados, wahoo, and some tuna. There are some places that we use called the Corbetens and El Banco these are 10 and 12-hour trips. These fishing trips offshore are for going for the Big Tuna, the big marlin, and other pelagic fish. Anglers always ask me what it likes to catch one of these huge fish. Well, just imagine holding on to the back bumper of your car for four hrs and not letting go. You will experience this feeling on our fishing trips. We also have some incredible bottom fishing on our 8 Hour trips like the El Morro and some of the reefs out by Punta Mita one of my favorite places to bottom fish is called the Corbetena changing and produces another huge red snapper we catch this time of the year we’re still seeing extraordinary warm waters for this time of the month. The water temperature is hovering around 80 degrees in most places. Where you see these big temperature jumps from 70 degrees to 80 degrees this is where you’ll see the thermoclines and tuna feeding. We have been seeing excellent action for the pelagic fish. Check out some of our videos on YouTube.

The one advantage that we have over a lot of these other companies as we fish every day with multiple boats so we have multiple Captains with crews on the water at all the different fishing spots. We also use Terrafin which gives us an exact idea of where the blue water fishing places are, water temps, water clarity, and the thermoclines breaks.                                                                                                dorado fishing in Nuevo Vallarta

It’s going to be a hot Spring break here in Nuevo Vallarta

Nuevo Vallarta fishing report January

Happy new year from Nuevo Vallarta, where the fish are always hungry. This last December saw some fantastic action. We had multiple hookups with some sailfish, marlin, mahi-mahi and, much other pelagic fish. This was done mostly to the warmer waters hanging around longer than normal. The water temperatures are still in the high 70’s. Good news for all anglers venturing out for a fun day here in Mexico. Nuevo Vallarta has been on fire to put it lightly. This coming January we are expecting much of the same weather 70 degrees to so and some fabulous fishing inshore and offshore. Seem like the lady anglers we have been taking out are kicking butt and taking names. Take a look at some of these January catches.  nuevo vallarta fishing in january
What can folks expect to catch this January? With the water temperature abnormally high that we are having and the overabundance of bait inside the bay and offshore we are predicting the same as December. Normally when the water changes we have species of fish that leave and look for warmer water or different baits but this year they have stayed. Seems like when one species of fish leave another comes along and keeps the fishing interesting here in Nuevo Vallarta Mexico.
These warm water temps have been producing sailfish out by the islands and offshore in good numbers. Several of our best Capts. Have been catching double and even triple hookups offshore. The marlin bite has been steady. The two best fishing spots are el Banco and Corebetena. The same as the years past. There are the few marlins caught in the bay and along the north shore from time to time. The Mahi-mahi action has been off the charts. We had one-day last week where the clients had 20 dorados in one day and some marlin action. Many of the trips this last month of the year were offshore as the bite was so good. I’m sure we will be having much of the same this coming month. Check out some of the best rates in Nuevo Vallarta fishing.
The inshore action lit up the bay with the arrival of the humpback whales and all kinds of good-eating fish. What’s not to like about nonstop rod-bending action all day along with catching some fantastic eating fish to take back to the condo. The Spanish mackerel, California Bonita, snapper, and some Mahi-mahi have kept our fishing anglers busy this January. With the arrival of the new year 2022, we have some new trips to talk about.
We have been getting many requests for fishing and whale watching we decided to offer a fishing/whale watching combo trip. This is a 6 hr trip with grantee success on whales and fish. The humpback whales are here every year from Alaska here from December to March and will have this special trip to offer everyone coming down to beautiful Nuevo Vallarta where the friendliest people in the world live. Nuevo Vallarta fishing report for December

The in-the-know anglers enjoy in Nuevo Vallarta for the month of December. Some of the most obvious reasons are incredible weather, sunny skies, fantastic lodging, nightlife, and incredible offshore fishing. Deep-sea fishing in the winter here is a lot like Christmas, ya never know what you are going to catch. The following species of pelagic fish will be had inshore and offshore. Try your hand at fishing for marlin, sailfish, wahoo, tuna, and mahi-mahi in Nuevo Vallarta. With the warm waters coming and going it keeps us guessing as to what the bite will be tomorrow. The one constant thing we can count on is good fishing in Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico.
The sailfish, tuna, and marlin love the semi-warm water that we have all winter long. When most of the United States and Canada are putting their boat is storage we are in full fishing mode here in beautiful Nuevo Vallarta. With the warm waters and abundance of bait you just never know what you can catch here. We have all kinds of fish, but the constant changing of water temps and currents keeps us on toes or should I say our boats.  nuevo vallarta december fishi
If you are looking for marlin fishing in the winter we have right here for some offshore fishing. The plan will be for 8 hours to 10 hrs or even 12 hours depending on where the blue water is and the bait movement. If you follow our fishing reports I always say follow the bait and you will find the fish. The huge marlin loves the warmer water but will not starve themselves to death. We all have to eat and so do the marlin. Hence we have to follow the baits and the other fishing conditions that are tale-tale signs the fish will be biting in our area. If the conditions change so do we. Follow the fish to success.
The sailfish swims in temperatures that can range from 75 to 80 degrees water but with some exceptions. We see these fish in the summer when the water temp is above 80 degree. That is what makes the winter fishing in Nuevo Vallarta so nice is the perfect water temperatures. With all kinds of bait like mullet, sardine and goggle-eye,bonitas, chorras there’s nothing holding us back here in Puerto Vallarta fishing. If you want excitement try fishing with 5 to 10 lbs baits for our blue and black marlin.  nuevo vallarta mahi mahi fishing

nuevo vallarta snapper fishing
The mahi-mahi aka dorados loves the water temp from 68 degrees to 82 deg. We have those water temps most of year-round. The best water temperatures are in the winter months here in Puerto Vallarta bay fishing. To catch these fish be sure and know where the water temp breaks are in the bay. We use Terrifin and this will put us in the fish zone most days. The mahi-mahi fantastic fighters are just like us and love the warm water and will be here most of the year especially in the winter. Come down and give mahi-mahi fishing a chance inshore or offshore. The best bet is a charter of 8 hours for some thrilling action and an incredible table fare. There are some of the best-tasting fish anywhere.
The bay fishing holds very steadily for the winter months. We have the Spanish mackerel,skip-jack tuna, yellowtail, and snapper that keeps our clients happy even on short trips of for to six hours. Most days we can load the boat up with some good eating fish along with some fabulous fishing. Be sure and check availability before coming down. Christmas is right around the corner and we will be booked up before ya know. A quick email or phone call can have you on one of our boats in the tropical weather hauling in a big fish while landing the fish of your dreams. We are only a phone call 800 4306048 way for exceeding your expectations
Look forward to seeing everyone on the water here in beautiful Nuevo Vallarta Mexico
