November is the very best months to fish in Nuevo Vallarta. This is what we’ve all been waiting for here in Nuevo Vallarta fishing. For starters, we’re going to experience a lot of the similar fishing that we experienced had last month. Marlin, sailfish, tuna, and dorados. We also have a several  fishing tournaments coming up in the November.  The Los Muertos tournament is a local and international angler favorite. This is one of the biggest tournaments of the year, usually, around 200 boats enter this tournament and target mostly mahi -mahi and sailfish. There are some great prizes this year 350,000 pesos and many more. The next international fishing tournament is November the 9th for registration and there will be three fantastic  fishing days for Marlin, sailfish, tuna, and dorados.  There is big money in these tournaments and some of the top fishermen /charter companies will be fishing this event.500,000forMarlin,300,000 for sailfish and dorados well.

Nuevo Vallarta fishing report for the month of September 2022

This Labor day our fishing report starts off with more great news of what we had last month.  The larger marlin, sailfish and mah-mahi have started to move into our fishing grounds here in Nuevo Vallarta. . The weather has been perfect with the minus passing of a few storms offshore. Not many people know September as one of the better months to fish in Nuevo Vallarta. First, there are less people here with school back in full swing in the United States and Mexico. Second, we have more bait that comes into our bay and offshore fishing area. If you read my fishing reports you will always here me talk about following the bait trail. If you are on the bait you will be on the fish. One of the last factors is it’s still summertime and the days are long.  Sun comes up here in September at 7.30 am and sets about 8.30 p.m. Giving up plenty of daylight hrs. to hunt down any type of fish you may be looking for. September is a great month for dorados, sailfish, marlin, tuna and all the game fish you want to catch in the bay of Nuevo Vallarta. Let’s talk about where we fish in the month of September.sailfish in nuevo vallarta

The bay fishing happens in Nuevo Vallarta to the south side of the bay. Here on the south side of the bay the Los Arcos,Qimixto,Los Animas and Yelapa are always good gashing in the month of September. If you are set up for all the fish we catch in the bay you might see some billfish behind your spread. Happens all the time so keep a sharp lookout on the short corner. The marlin and sailfish love to surprise us by taking a black bart lures of even a sewn-up mullet bait.

A little know fact is that the sailfish love this south side of the bay when the moon if full.  There will half the fishermen that don’t like a full moon and the other half of the anglers love the full moon. I guess I have to be neutral on this point as I have had some incredible days on the full moon and some that have not been great days. Leave us a comment on the full moon debate down below.

The north side of the bay seems better for yellowtail,(sometimes schooling ) Spanish mackerel, skip jack tuna, mahi-mahi and some roosterfish.  We depart from Nuevo some days and get lucky fishing the area of La Cruz all the way up to Punta Mita. The are several favorite fishing spots along this shore of the bay. Palo Verde in one of the best and you never know what will be biting around this knoll. I’ve seen snapper all the way to sailfish in September taking our baits along the beautiful beach area. Be sure and take extra bait in the part of the bay. You might find the fish schooling in this month of fishing here. To see what you can expect to catch offshore please take a look at the offshore fishing report in Nuevo Vallarta Mexico. This September we will be busy fishing offshore around Labor day. We will be fishing several offshore destinations like the El Morro. The Morro is known for it’s close proximity to Nuevo Vallarta located just outside the bay. The sailfish, marlin and mahi-mahi loves the area. This is just offshore and cab be done in an 8 hr. trip. This fishing area holds bait from the abundance of bait and reefs. The roosterfish and amberjack love to feed in this honey hole of a fishing spot. I’ve also landed huge marlin in September here . Fishing with small tuna or large bonitas of 5 to ten lbs. can produce some very productive fishing.

For the more adventurous angler we have the Corbetena and El Banco. These offshore trips are 10 to 14 hrs. The first Cortbetena hold marlin and tuna all year round. There is always bait there hence the fish congregate around the area depending on the water tempertures and water clarity.  If you have the right tempertures and deep dark blue water. Watch out.  The big fish will be there.

El Banco is about 50 miles offshore and holds everything you can fish for in the Pacific ocean.  This is the mecca of fishing ground out of Nuevo Vallarta. I’ve fished here for over 35 years and know of only one fishing spot that is better. Can anyone guess where it is at ?snapper fishing in nuevo vallarta

As you can see for the month of September we have you cover for either offshore fishing or bay fishing. We have a toll free number to check the weather and fishing reports before coming down.  Just let us know how many are in your group/family and I will personally guarantee you a fabulous day on the water here.

Hope to see everyone out there on the water. Take a look at what other said about our Nuevo Vallarta fishing charters.

Nuevo Vallarta fishing report August

Hola from Nuevo Vallarta where the August fishing continues to be amazing. We’re coming up on our summertime fishing here in Mexico.  The fishing is as hot as the weather. My captains have been reporting inshore fishing is incredible. Water temperatures have been cooler than normal, abundant bait and with the COVID-19 there are fewer boats out on the water. This is increasing our fishing hookups and good size fish. If fishing this summer in Mexico in your vacation plans then Nuevo Vallarta is where you need to be.  Nuevo Vallarta fishing

Inshore fishing has also been producing many yellowtails we had six fish on at the same time the other day. There have also been some yellowfin tuna over by a Yalapa for the 6-hour bay fishing trips. The roosterfish have been tearing up the water and are here in good numbers. With these kinds of fishing conditions in Nuevo Vallarta the success rate of great days has been fantastic. Before coming down to Nuevo Vallarta shoot us a quick email so we can give you the latest conditions and fishing report.

Several of our offshore captains are catching sailfish in good numbers. The mahi-mahi I’ve been hitting offshore and inshore with incredible numbers. With these kinds of conditions, you can expect numerous hook up either inshore or offshore. You’re coming down and looking for a big marlin the offshore action is where you need to be. Starting to see some of the really big ones here.  The black marlin is here and still seeing the blue marlin mixed in with these huge fish.

Be sure and check out our fantastic fishing rates in Nuevo Vallarta

The marlin is ranging from 250 all the way up to 750 lbs.  The water temperature is holding around 80 degrees.  This is ideal for all kinds of pelagic fish.

Most of these gigantic Marlin are feeding on live bait. We are also having good luck on our black Bart lures and skipping baits. The offshore action has been so good we’re seeing numerous hookups in one day. If you’re looking for a summertime vacation or coming this August o Nuevo  Vallarta we have all the fishing action you can handle. If you’ll give us a heads-up on when you’re coming and how many people will be in your group and I’ll personally guarantee we will put you on the right boat with the right crew. Look forward to seeing everyone out there on the water. Stay safe and see you soon here in beautiful Nuevo Vallarta  where the fish are always biting.
