Nuevo Vallarta fishing report for the month of September 2022

This Labor day our fishing report starts off with more great news of what we had last month.  The larger marlin, sailfish and mah-mahi have started to move into our fishing grounds here in Nuevo Vallarta. . The weather has been perfect with the minus passing of a few storms offshore. Not many people know September as one of the better months to fish in Nuevo Vallarta. First, there are less people here with school back in full swing in the United States and Mexico. Second, we have more bait that comes into our bay and offshore fishing area. If you read my fishing reports you will always here me talk about following the bait trail. If you are on the bait you will be on the fish. One of the last factors is it’s still summertime and the days are long.  Sun comes up here in September at 7.30 am and sets about 8.30 p.m. Giving up plenty of daylight hrs. to hunt down any type of fish you may be looking for. September is a great month for dorados, sailfish, marlin, tuna and all the game fish you want to catch in the bay of Nuevo Vallarta. Let’s talk about where we fish in the month of September.sailfish in nuevo vallarta

The bay fishing happens in Nuevo Vallarta to the south side of the bay. Here on the south side of the bay the Los Arcos,Qimixto,Los Animas and Yelapa are always good gashing in the month of September. If you are set up for all the fish we catch in the bay you might see some billfish behind your spread. Happens all the time so keep a sharp lookout on the short corner. The marlin and sailfish love to surprise us by taking a black bart lures of even a sewn-up mullet bait.

A little know fact is that the sailfish love this south side of the bay when the moon if full.  There will half the fishermen that don’t like a full moon and the other half of the anglers love the full moon. I guess I have to be neutral on this point as I have had some incredible days on the full moon and some that have not been great days. Leave us a comment on the full moon debate down below.

The north side of the bay seems better for yellowtail,(sometimes schooling ) Spanish mackerel, skip jack tuna, mahi-mahi and some roosterfish.  We depart from Nuevo some days and get lucky fishing the area of La Cruz all the way up to Punta Mita. The are several favorite fishing spots along this shore of the bay. Palo Verde in one of the best and you never know what will be biting around this knoll. I’ve seen snapper all the way to sailfish in September taking our baits along the beautiful beach area. Be sure and take extra bait in the part of the bay. You might find the fish schooling in this month of fishing here. To see what you can expect to catch offshore please take a look at the offshore fishing report in Nuevo Vallarta Mexico. What are the cost for fishing in Nuevo Vallarta Mexico

This September we will be busy fishing offshore around Labor day. We will be fishing several offshore destinations like the El Morro. The Morro is known for it’s close proximity to Nuevo Vallarta located just outside the bay. The sailfish, marlin and mahi-mahi loves the area. This is just offshore and cab be done in an 8 hr. trip. This fishing area holds bait from the abundance of bait and reefs. The roosterfish and amberjack love to feed in this honey hole of a fishing spot. I’ve also landed huge marlin in September here . Fishing with small tuna or large bonitas of 5 to ten lbs. can produce some very productive fishing.

For the more adventurous angler we have the Corbetena and El Banco. These offshore trips are 10 to 14 hrs. The first Cortbetena hold marlin and tuna all year round. There is always bait there hence the fish congregate around the area depending on the water tempertures and water clarity.  If you have the right tempertures and deep dark blue water. Watch out.  The big fish will be there.

El Banco is about 50 miles offshore and holds everything you can fish for in the Pacific ocean.  This is the mecca of fishing ground out of Nuevo Vallarta. I’ve fished here for over 35 years and know of only one fishing spot that is better. Can anyone guess where it is at ?snapper fishing in nuevo vallarta

As you can see for the month of September we have you cover for either offshore fishing or bay fishing. We have a toll free number to check the weather and fishing reports before coming down.  Just let us know how many are in your group/family and I will personally guarantee you a fabulous day on the water here.

Hope to see everyone out there on the water. Take a look at what other said about our Nuevo Vallarta fishing charters.

Nuevo Vallarta fishing Report July

Fishing in July has some fantastic advantages here in Nuevo Vallarta.  Most anglers, Captains, families, and fishermen know July is one of the best months to fish here in Mexico.  The big game fish come out to play and it all starts around July 4th. There will be a lot of fireworks in the sky and along our coastal waters.  Along with some of the best deep-sea fishing in Nuevo Vallarta. We are also having a marlin and yellowfin tuna tournament this July so you know the fishing will be good.   We have huge Marlin, sailfish, mahi-mahi, and the most sought-after yellowfin tuna just to mention a few. If you’re looking for a big game action July is the month you want to be here. There is also some fantastic inshore fishing here in our bay.

In Nuevo Vallarta, rainy season has already started with light rains in the evenings almost every day. Occasionally we’ll have light rains in the morning, but usually, they clear up around 7 or 8 in the morning.  I receive thousands of calls about the weather each month.  For some reason, the weather channel and other website locations on the web have decided to put rain in our forecast every day.  It’s just the opposite.  We have sunny skies every day with light rains in the evening and offer sunny skies all day long.   These rains that we have in the evenings have a couple of effects that really heat up the fishing here in Nuevo Vallarta for the month of July. First and foremost, it brings in all kinds of bait closer which in turn brings in some of the bigger fish following the mullet, sardines, and skipjack tunas. This is great because we’ll be doing a lot of four and six-hour trips over the holidays like July 4th. It’s always a big celebration here in beautiful Nuevo  Vallarta on July 4th even though it’s traditionally not celebrated in Mexico. What we would like you to celebrate is the fantastic fishing that we have during our summer months and in July. It just happens to be one of the best months to fish here in Mexico. When you’re coming down for summertime fishing conditions you’ll just have to decide if you want to have some of the incredible bay fishing or try your hand at going offshore for some of the really big fish that we catch here for the month of July.

sailfish action in Nuevo Vallarta

There are several different ways that we fish for the big marlin, tuna, and mahi-mahi. We use pitch baits, kites, lures, and skip baits to bring these fish up in our spreads behind our many options of sportfishing boats. We’ll be using some of our favorite places that we see year in and year out that produce these huge pelagic fish. El Morro is the closest of the places we like to fish it can be done in about 8 hours. One of the world’s most famous places is the Cortbetena and it produces some of the biggest fish of the year here. El Banco is another favorite where we catch some of the winning fish for the tournaments.  Happens year after year. The huge pelagic fish live and feed there. The deep-sea fishing trip is 50 miles out and we need a 12 to 14-hour trip to get there and fish. This underwater fishing spot hole is famous as it is located in thousands of feet of water, then comes up to a low point of 100 ft. Fishing here is almost for sure you were going to come home with a trophy fish. The fishing spot just happens to be one of our favorite places the fish with 5 to 10 lbs.  Baits for these huge Marlin.   Not uncommon to catch the huge Yellowfin schooling as well. So this July if you’re looking for a fun time and a great place to fish for the day we got you covered inshore or offshore fishing.Nuevo Vallarta deep sea fishing

fishing in nuevo vallarta June

The Nuevo Vallarta fishing report starts off with the warming of the water around 78 deg. and light rains we have in the evenings during the month of June until the month of October. This helps the inshore and offshore tremendously.  I mentioned last month about the abundance of bait arriving here in bay.  Mullet, sardines, and goggle-eye are just a few of these baits. These conditions will continue throughout the summer months until the Fall.  The only difference will be the arrival of bigger fish and more of them. Some of these incredible fish include marlin, sailfish, mahi-mahi, and the most sought-after yellowfin tuna.  The huge yellowfin tunas follow the bait the thermoclines right into the bay.  As of matter of fact, some of them were showing up during the last part of the month.  With the arrival of warm water and so much bait, you can easily see why anglers love the summertime fishing here in Nuevo Vallarta Mexico. There will be numerous families visiting us here in Mexico over the summer months for fishing and what a perfect time to do so.  Let us help you customize a family fishing trip. The bay fishing will be hot as June in Texas. Now that’s hot! Hope you will be able to come down and enjoy the hot action. Be sure and check out our prices here online.

Nuevo Vallarta deep sea fishing

Offshore fishing will start to see more blue marlin and black marlin as the cool water-striped marlin move out to more favorable fishing grounds.  Seems like every time one pelagic species of fish leave our area another shows up just in time to keep the fishing interesting here in our part of the neck of the woods.  Along with the huge marlin, the tuna will pop up around the bay and offshore. With the trade winds and local currents, we have you just never know where they will start to feed.  This is one of the main reasons we use the satellite service( terrafin ) for checking water temp and water clarity before leaving the dock.  This not only cuts down on the time we have to hunt for the fish it gives our boats the upper hand on the other fishing boats.

If you are looking for some fun times, fantastic beaches, friendly people, family fun, incredible restaurants, and some of the best fishing on the planet come to Nuevo Vallarta fishing this summer. June is when the fishing really starts to get good here in Nuevo Vallarta.

Nuevo Vallarta fishing report May

We all know that May is for mothers day and excellent fishing and Nuevo Vallarta Mexico. If you’re visiting down here to Nuevo Vallarta in the month of May, you’re gonna be able to take out several different fishing trips. In may we have the changing of the waters where cooler water is meeting warmer water. This is great in several ways as the warmer waters bring in the larger fish and all kinds of baitfish. The mullet, shad, sardines, bonitos, and goggle-eye are just a few.may fishing in Nuevo Vallarta

Fishing in May can be rewarding, so make sure you check the weather, water temperature, where the blue water is, and of course last but not least where the fish had been feeding the last couple of days. We always do well in may for several reasons, first and foremost, we have a lot of repeat clients so we’re on the water every day. The next big thing that helps us is terrafin which enables us to see water temps and water clarity. These combined elements help us stay on the fish and help our clients catch more fish. I always say if you find out where the fish are feeding, then you’ll have a fantastic day.

See what the boats and best Captains have been catching in Nuevo Vallarta fishing.

We will be offering short trips in the Bay on our 28-foot super panga four to six hours is perfect we’ve been landing a lot of Spanish mackerel yellowtail snapper and California Bonita additions will hold up for the month of May until the water temperature starts to rise above 78 degrees. Check out the fantastic prices we have online.

We’ll be offering similar trips on our 32 building for groups that are a little bit larger by doing the same kind of fishing ,but can also venture off sure with a 32-footer it’s very comfortable for four people. Our most requested boat the 40-footer is for offshore trips looking for sailfish, marlin, tuna, and the fantastic eating mahi-mahi. These trips are usually 8 to 10 hours or can be extended depending on where the fish are running. Be sure and give us a call at our toll-free number if you have any questions about the fishing conditions, which boat you guys should take, and where the fish are biting. Will be more than happy to help out in any way.

Nuevo Vallarta fishing report April

The April Nuevo Vallarta fishing report looks very similar to the March fishing report. There will be some major changes that will see in the month of April. There will be warmer water, more fish, thermoclines, and a lot more bait in the water. When you start seeing more bait in the water, such as sardines, mullet, macarella, goggle-eye, and bonita this only means one thing. The spring fishing is going to be epic. The big marlin, tuna, sailfish, and mahi-mahi will start moving into the Nayarit area.  sailfish in Nuevo Vallarta
The warmth of the water brings in all these different kinds of bait that I listed above. And then if you’ve been reading my reports over the years you know when you find the bait you will find the fish. Being on the right fishing spot at the right time is the secret to successful fishing trips.  nuevo vallarta reef fishing
The perfect equation to any fishing trip is fantastic weather which we have plenty of, beautiful blue water, which happens in April, excellent water temperatures, and an abundance of bait. The fish will always be where the bait is, so that’s one of the signs that we look for on a daily basis.
If you’re looking for the perfect recipe for a fishing trip give us a call toll-free before coming down. After so many years of taking thousands of people out each year, we have many options. Take a look here to see some of the options.
One of the big questions we always get enabled is where are we gonna fish and what are we gonna catch.
Well, the truth of the matter is the fish move around a lot and it’s hard to predict what we’re gonna catch and where we’re gonna catch the fish. We did this a long time here in Nuevo Vallarta and we have all the moon phases, the tide charts, surface temperatures, and water clarity to help us find fish. with afishing for tuna in Nuevo Vallartall the information we have these fish still can’t read and sometimes can fool even the best fisherman in the world.
To see what we’ve been doing on a daily basis and some of our catches take a look at Facebook we try to keep the Facebook page up-to-date with all the different fish that we’re catching and so you’ll have a good idea before coming down what the action is like here in the beautiful Puerto Vallarta Mexico.
Not sure which one of our boats to book just give us a call toll-free 800 430 6048 and we’ll be more than happy to explain all the different options. We have an English-speaking person that answers our calls and so no question is too silly to ask We actually encourage our clients to call us before coming down and to answer any questions they might have about fishing or other related Areas here in the beautiful Nuevo Vallarta.
You can also take a look at our calendar it will give you a good idea of what we’ve been catching the last few days and what you can expect to catch why you guys are here Click here to take a look
Hope to see everybody out there in the water and tight lines
