Inshore action

Here in Vallarta It seems like when on particular fishing cools off another one is just as hot as can be. This happens here several times a year. We have had some great in inshore water conditions. The water temps are up and down but have never reached the point where you could say it was cold. This year in February we had some cool water here that usually turns off some of the inshore fishing but somebody forgot to tell all these fish we’ve been catching. We’ve been landing lots of Yellowtail, Spanish mackerel, Snapper, roosterfish sailfish, and many mahi-mahi. To put it bluntly inshore fishing it’s pretty much off the charts. If you’re looking for some great action, perfect weather and all the fishing action you can handle on a short trip then Nuevo Vallarta fishing has got you covered.mahi-mahi fishing in nuevo vallarta

Hard to believe that one spot has so many different options and so many different places to fish. In February we still use famous fallback places like the El Morro ( 8 hr. trip) El Cortbetena ( 10 hr. trip ) with one big exception. These are the months coming up where we start to see all kinds of bait movement on the north shore out past Punta Mita. These fishing adventures are 8 hrs. are action packed. The offshore fishing past the Marietas Islands can produce all kinds of fish sailfish, mahi-mahi, roosterfish, tuna and marlin in February. These types of deep sea fish charters are 8 hrs. and often catch multiple kinds of pelagic fish.

The month of February and March is when the bait fish start to move in close to shore and will hold he fish right along the coast. This produces some of the best fishing of the year. I’ve been out offshore fishing and seeing the water completely light up with fish boiling on the water. As I said before all kinds of fish like sailfish all the way up to yellowfin tuna. When the conditions are right fishing February Nuevo Vallarta has all kinds of benefits. We have the shorter run, more abundance of fish and all different kinds of species to fish for. Let’s start the Nuevo Vallarta fishing report for December 2019 off with the fish that we’ve been catching. The bay fishing has been off the charts with almost everything being caught right here inside the bay.

It’s been almost as good as you can imagine. Unless you want to go offshore for the big game. We still had a lot of guys fishing offshore but we have a lot of families that show up right around the Christmas season and so they’re staying inside the bay for the short fishing charters.

Fishing report November 2019

Nuevo Vallarta fishing report November 2019. Have another exciting winter season that’s starting off with lots of mahi-mahi. The November action was incredible along with many tournaments where we placed second in the largest tournament here in Puerto Vallarta sailfish division.

Offshore action

nuevo vallarta mahi-mahi fishingThe mahi-mahi action continues in November. We’re out yesterday hooked up several mahi mahi and saw several sailfish and Marlin. We’re still seeing a lot of tree stumps old stuff floating in the water and this is holding Dorados like crazy. Some days we can pull up and catch the Dorado each cast. Incredible action to put it bluntly.

For those folks that are willing to venture offshore the Marlin and sailfish have been there for the taking. The offshore run has not been very far and most days the Seas a very very flat. Here in the winter months we rarely get rough Seas. You’re concerned about the Sea and the weather please call me on our toll-free number 800 430 6048 will be more than happy to ask you answer any questions that you might have about fishing here in Nuevo Vallarta.

Inshore fishing & Whale-Watching

nuevo vallarta marlin fishingWe’ve had lots of families over the vacation holidays doing lots of bay trips and producing quite a few fish. We have a 13 year old boy landed his first Marlin with his family from Chicago way to go Matt. Can you imagine how exciting this was for him and family.

On another side note the whales have decided to show up as the water is finally cooling down just a little bit. 83 deg. Over the last month is dropped about 2° soon as it drops another couple of degrees the humpback whales will be here in full force. It’s always a pleasure when we’re taking me for catching lots of fish as we see the whales on the way out and on the way coming back in. We also do whale watching trips for folks I just want to see the whales and enjoy the beautiful weather.
